Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
The Moodup mobile app ("Moodup", "we") is operated by Celal Alperen Sezgün. You can reach us at destek@moodupapp.com or Zonguldak-merkez-Tepebaşı-mahallesi-gözdesitesi-B3-blok-daire-6. Users in Türkiye can also read our KVKK Privacy Notice (in Turkish).
2. Data we collect
- Account: Your email address, and the name and email shared by Apple or Google if you sign in with them.
- Profile: Your name, date of birth (only your age is shown), gender (used only for women-only events and never shown on your profile), traveler/local status, country, languages, interests, bio and profile photo.
- Location: When you use "Nearby", your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) and last-seen time are stored. Your precise location, used to calculate distances, stays on your device. The meeting point you choose when creating an event is shown to other users with the event.
- Your content: Events you create or join, your group chat messages and your private messages (DMs).
- Safety records: Users you block, reports you send and reports about you.
- Purchases: Once paid features launch, your subscription and purchase status. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Technical data: IP address, device and app information kept in server logs.
3. How we use it
To create your account and send sign-in codes, to provide events, group chats and Nearby, to keep the community safe (reviewing reports, preventing abuse and spam, suspending accounts that break the rules) and to meet legal obligations. We do not show ads and we do not sell your personal data.
4. Who can see your information
Other users can see your profile (name, age, traveler/local badge, country, languages, interests, bio and photo), your approximate distance and the events you create. Group messages are visible only to people in the same event chat, and private messages only to the person you are talking with. If a message is reported, it may be reviewed solely for moderation purposes. People you block cannot see you, and you cannot see them. Your date of birth, gender, email and precise location are never shown to other users.
5. Service providers
- Supabase: database, file storage and authentication (server region: Frankfurt, Germany)
- Resend: sign-in and notification emails (server region: Ireland)
- Cloudflare: domain, website and email forwarding
- Apple and Google: app stores, sign-in and payments
- RevenueCat: subscription management (once paid features launch)
Some of these providers are based in the United States. We share data with them only as needed to run the service.
6. Retention
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account in the app (Profile → Privacy & safety → Delete my account), your profile, photo, events and messages are deleted, and removed from backups within 30 days. Safety-related report records and records we are legally required to keep may be retained for the necessary period.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your data and object to its processing. You can edit your profile and delete your account at any time in the app. For other requests, email destek@moodupapp.com.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and database access rules ensure each user can reach only the data they are allowed to see. No system is completely secure, however.
9. Age limit
Moodup is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will announce important changes in the app.
